Full-Service Interior Design · North County San Diego

Homes that feel like the coast on its best morning.

Nikki Victoria designs complete interiors for Carlsbad's finest homes: new builds in Aviara, bluff-front remodels in Terramar, and village classics in Olde Carlsbad. One team from first sketch to final styling.

Our Approach

Sun-washed, layered, and unhurried. We build rooms from natural materials: oak, linen, limestone, and hand-glazed tile. The house should feel collected over years, not installed in a week.

How We Work
Phase One

Discover

A walkthrough of your home and your days in it. We leave with your habits, your art, your non-negotiables, and a shared vocabulary for the house.

Phase Two

Design

Full concept in one presentation: floor plans, elevations, materials you can hold, and a transparent budget before a single order is placed.

Phase Three

Deliver

We manage every trade, order, and install day. You leave for a long weekend and come home to a finished house, down to the flowers.

From Our Clients
“We interviewed firms in La Jolla and Del Mar first. Nikki understood our house, and our family, better in one meeting than the others did in three.”

Consultations

Your home deserves a plan, not a Pinterest board.

Begin with a 90-minute design consultation at your home. We will walk the rooms together, talk honestly about scope and budget, and map what a full engagement would look like.

Project No. 01

Lagoon House

Location Bayshore, Carlsbad
Scope Full residence · 4,800 sq ft
Completed 2026
Duration 14 months
Lagoon House great room, white linen and driftwood tones

A house that borrows its palette from the water.

The clients came to us with a 1980s house on the lagoon that had good bones and terrible instincts: heavy drapery, dark granite, and rooms that turned their back on the view. We opened the plan toward the water and rebuilt the interiors around what the site already did well.

Every finish was chosen against a single reference: the lagoon at ten in the morning. Fog-blue upholstery, whitewashed oak, unlacquered brass that will darken with the salt air. The furniture mixes new trade pieces with vintage finds sourced over the length of the project.

Project No. 02

The Aviara New Build

Location Aviara, Carlsbad
Scope New construction · 6,400 sq ft
Completed 2025
Duration 20 months
Aviara kitchen, white oak island and book-matched stone hood

Decided before the drywall, not after.

We joined this project at the architectural drawing stage, eighteen months before move-in. That early seat at the table is why the house feels inevitable: every ceiling detail, floor transition, and lighting position was resolved on paper alongside the architect and builder.

The clients asked for a house that could host forty for a golf weekend and still feel calm on a Tuesday. The answer was a restrained shell of white oak and limestone with rooms that layer up through textiles, art, and a kitchen built to disappear when dinner is served.

Next Project Highland Drive View Project
Project No. 03

Highland Drive

Location Olde Carlsbad
Scope Whole-home remodel · 3,600 sq ft
Completed 2025
Duration 11 months
Highland Drive primary bath in warm limestone

A village classic, rebuilt from the studs in stone and plaster.

Three blocks from Carlsbad Village, this 1950s house had been remodeled four times and improved by none of them. We took it back to the frame and rebuilt with a short list of honest materials: limestone, hand-troweled plaster, rift oak, and blackened steel.

The primary bath sets the tone for the whole house. A single limestone slab runs the length of the vanity, lit by one pendant, with everything else pared away. The clients call it the quietest room they have ever owned.

Next Project La Costa Courtyard View Project
Project No. 04

La Costa Courtyard

Location La Costa, Carlsbad
Scope Full residence & exteriors · 5,900 sq ft
Completed 2024
Duration 16 months
Courtyard with reflecting pool between two glass pavilions

Indoors and outdoors, designed as one commission.

Two pavilions around a courtyard pool, with the interiors and exteriors treated as a single continuous project. The same limestone runs from the living room floor across the pool deck; the same cedar lines the ceilings inside and out.

Furnishing a glass house means every piece is seen from every side, in full sun. We specified performance textiles that read as linen, outdoor pieces that read as indoor, and a lighting plan that keeps the courtyard glowing without a single visible fixture.

Process

One team, one budget, one point of accountability.

Full-service means exactly that. From the first walkthrough to the last styled shelf, your project has a single studio responsible for design, documentation, procurement, and installation.

The Three Phases
Phase One · Weeks 1 to 4

Discover

Site walkthrough, measured survey, and a working session about how you actually live. We close this phase with a written brief and a fee proposal, so scope is agreed before design begins.

Phase Two · Months 2 to 5

Design

One comprehensive presentation: plans, elevations, physical materials, furnishings, and line-item budget. We revise together until it is right, then document everything for the trades.

Phase Three · To Install

Deliver

We run procurement, receiving, and every trade day through install. You get a weekly note with photos and decisions needed. The last day ends with your home styled, stocked, and finished.

Materials First

We design with samples on the table, not swatches on a screen.

Every presentation includes the actual stone, wood, tile, and textiles proposed for your home. Color drifts on screens; it does not drift in your hands. This is how we keep a whole house coherent across eighteen months of decisions.

Engagement Details

Projects

Full residences, new construction, and whole-home remodels in the Carlsbad area. We take six commissions per year and give each one principal-level attention through install.

Fees

A flat design fee scoped after the discovery phase, plus procurement at trade terms. You see our pricing and the trade pricing side by side; the economics are never a mystery.

Timeline

Furnishing-only engagements run four to six months. Whole-home remodels typically run ten to sixteen months. New construction follows the builder's schedule, with design complete before ground breaks.

Team

You work directly with the principal and one dedicated project designer. Trades and workrooms are ours, vetted across a decade of North County projects.

The Studio

Based in Carlsbad. Measured against anywhere.

Nikki Victoria was founded on a simple bet: the homes between Carlsbad Village and La Costa deserve the same level of design as anything in La Jolla, Del Mar, or Montecito, without importing a studio from somewhere else.

Window framing the Pacific Ocean
Point of View

Coastal, without the clichés.

No anchors, no rope mirrors, no navy stripes. The coast we design from is the one outside the window: fog, sand, eucalyptus, worn oak, and water light. Rooms in this palette age gracefully and photograph honestly.

The studio is led by its founding principal with a team of three, working from a converted bungalow near the village. Clients are welcome by appointment; the sample library is worth the visit.
